The Origin Story
The dragonfly has a 95% hunting success rate — one of the highest in nature. Not the biggest. Not the fastest. The most precise.
It anticipates movement, adjusts in real time, and commits with intent.
That's our standard: Show up prepared. Execute with precision. Never overcommit.
The dragonfly isn't a mascot. It's how we operate.
Agile response. Absolute results.
"The dragonfly does not need to be the loudest in the room. Just the most precise."
Ray Bruce, Managing Principal
Managing Principal
The Founder
Ray Bruce served a decade as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Air Force, leading complex defense, technology, and intelligence programs across Europe, Africa, and the Indo-Pacific. He managed multi-million-dollar initiatives and built high-performing teams responsible for mission-critical outcomes.
After leaving active duty, Ray earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University and moved into the private sector, working directly with state and local governments and defense industrial base customers at a global technology company. In both roles, the expectation was simple: do good work.
The Dragonfly Group was built from that experience. Ray has operated inside government programs and worked alongside agency leaders, contractors, and technology partners. He understands how coordination, accountability, and clear ownership determine whether a project succeeds or falls apart.
As the company grows, so does its purpose. The Dragonfly Group is building a network of veteran-owned trade partners and subcontractors, creating opportunities for other veteran businesses to access government contracts they would not reach on their own.
Winning work is the first step. Sharing it with those who have served is the long game.
Company Values
We plan before we move. Every project starts with a clear scope, a clear timeline, and a clear standard.
One point of contact. One point of ownership. From mobilization through closeout.
We say what we will do, then we do it. No change orders we did not flag. No surprises.
Military-grade project management applied to every contract, regardless of size.
We build long-term partnerships, not one-time transactions. The bid list is just the beginning.
Three verticals. Multiple NAICS codes. We scale up or down based on what the mission requires.
